Privacy Policy
This policy explains how TCG Lens handles information when you sign in, scan cards, browse the catalog, and manage your collection.
1. Account and collection
When you create an account with email, we receive your name and email address; we store a password hash to verify future sign-ins, not your original password. When you sign in with Google, we receive the provider identifier, email, and, when available, your name and profile image. We store account and collection data you enter on our servers, such as cards, quantities, variants, condition, grades, purchase prices, and notes.
2. Camera, photos, and identification
The scanner requests camera permission to read cards. You can also select a photo using the system picker. In the current flow, images and text recognition are processed on your device; captured photos are kept temporarily for scanning and review and are not uploaded through that flow. Recognized names and filters are sent to our API to search the catalog.
3. Storage and technical information
Your language, currency, appearance, scan preferences, and recent searches are stored on your device. Account and session credentials use the iOS Keychain. Catalog responses and downloaded images may be cached. Services receive technical information needed to connect and operate the service, such as IP address and request metadata. This version does not integrate advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs.
4. How information is used
We use information to verify access, save and display your collection, identify cards, calculate portfolio information, respond to support requests, secure the service, and investigate failures or misuse. Reading this policy does not authorize unrelated uses.
5. Providers and disclosures
Hosting and database providers process information needed to operate TCG Lens. Google processes sign-in information under its own policy. Apple and RevenueCat process account identifiers and purchase and subscription information to validate access and restore purchases; TCG Lens does not receive your payment card details. Catalog, image, and external marketplace services have their own policies. We do not sell personal information or use collection records for targeted advertising.
6. Retention and security
We retain account and collection information while needed to provide the service, handle requests, and meet legal obligations. After a deletion request, some information may be retained as needed for legal, security, or backup reasons. Temporary scanner images are released when the session ends. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices and requests
You can change camera and notification permissions in iOS Settings and edit or remove collection records in the app. To permanently delete your account and associated data, select “Delete Account” in Profile and confirm. You can also request access, correction, or export by emailing the contact below. Do not send passwords or sign-in tokens. Signing out or uninstalling the app does not delete server-stored data.
8. Children and changes
TCG Lens is not intended for children below the legal minimum age to manage an account. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact the responsible operator to request a review. Changes to data handling will be reflected in this policy and its update date; material changes will be communicated through the service where appropriate.
9. Contact
Responsible operator for TCG Lens: Jose Chin. For privacy, account, or support questions, email isaac@tcgmint.com. Describe your request and identify the account involved without sending passwords or tokens.
